Child Support

We will work to ensure that a fair and equitable child support payment plan is in place to help protect children and to ensure that their immediate needs are being taken care of. These expenses can involve daycare, schooling, summer camp, and other needs. We will be there to help if situations change, such as a change in the child’s needs, a change in employment status, a change in custody, or other changes that are vital to the original child support agreement.

Alimony

We will help determine if you should pay or receive alimony. In Pennsylvania, alimony is based upon the salary of both spouses, as well as other factors including the length of the marriage, how much financial contribution both parties made to the marriage, whether there was marital misconduct committed by one spouse, as well as the standard of living. We will work to ensure that a fair alimony structure is in place so that neither party has to undergo unnecessary hardship.

Temporary Alimony and APL

Once one of the parties files a divorce complaint, a spouse that had received spousal support will begin to receive temporary alimony or APL which stands for Alimony Pendente Lite. Once a person receives APL, they will receive that money until the divorce is complete, even if the party receiving the APL was engaging in marital misconduct.

The goal of The Law Office of Freddy M. Godoy is to lead our clients through divorce, even if the case involves child custody, protection from abuse, or support litigation. The Law Office of Freddy M. Godoy is prepared to use an extensive background in family and criminal law, as well as a great deal of courtroom experience to prepare for challenges that occur in court. With my experience, I will prepare you for the challenges that will occur in court, and help you to regain your control of your own situation and your own life.
